Privacy Policy

Effective July 6, 2026

This policy describes what EgoCogito.ai collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: your writing is yours, we collect the minimum needed to run the Service, and we don’t sell your data.

1. What we collect

Account data — your email address and authentication details.
Your content — the thoughts you write, their versions, comments, and chat conversations with your thinking partner, stored so they sync across your devices.
Usage data — token usage per AI request (for fair-use limits) and error logs (to fix failures). We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

2. AI processing

When you use an AI feature, the relevant text (your draft, comments, or messages) is sent to our AI model provider (currently OpenAI) to generate the response. We send only what the feature needs. Our providers process this data under their API terms, which prohibit using it to train their models.

3. Where data lives

Content and account data are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider); the app is hosted on Vercel. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details, only your subscription status.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the processors named above, as needed to operate the Service, or when required by law. We do not sell personal data. If you publish a share link, the content behind that link becomes publicly accessible until you revoke it.

5. Retention and deletion

Your content stays until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting a thought removes it from our database; backups age out on a rolling basis. To delete your account and all its data, contact us at the address below.

6. Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time — in the app where available, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA); we honor them.
